Heartichoke

to quote from one of my favorite movies, Amelie:

"You can't be a vegetable,
because even an artichoke has a heart."

here it is...proof positive!

fyi...i just found out that cutting the
top off the artichoke and steaming it
upside down works rather fabulously!
i cut down on my cooking time by half
and enjoyed my lunch early enough
to catch a nap!

Your photos are breaktaking! This one almost looks like we are peeking inside a shell and see a tiny purple Being all huddled inside waiting to be born. Of course it IS really! The beautiful unborn blossom!!
